The first window on the north side, nearest the chancel depicts The Resurrection and the Ascension. The scripture passage is from Luke 14:15, “Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the Kingdom of God.” In the left medallion, Christ ascends to heaven in a ring of golden light while the disciples kneel in reverence around his feet. In the right medallion, the risen Christ is shown above the empty tomb while soldiers are shown asleep at his feet. Kneeling angels below hold palm fronds symbolizing victory, triumph, peace, and eternal life.
The window is a memorial to Joseph Trimble Peters and was dedicated on June 1, 1947.
