The rose window in the chancel above the organ depicts an angelic choir carrying symbols of Christ’s Passion and Resurrection. The two lower angels hold the crown of thorns and the nails. The angels at the sides carry the scourges, spear, and sponge. The angels at the top carry the pelican feeding its young – a symbol of sacrifice; and the phoenix rising from the flames – a traditional symbol of the resurrection. At the center is the monogram Iota Eta Sigma - the first three letters of Jesus’ name in Greek. Other symbols in the window include stars of heavenly steadfastness and flames of divine zeal.
The rose window is a memorial to Helen H. Watzek and Dr. John W. Watzek and was dedicated on October 16, 1949.
