The first window on the south side, nearest the chancel, depicts The Passion of Our Lord. The scripture passage is from Luke 11:28, “Blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it". In the left medallion Christ is shown being driven by his tormentors and carrying his cross. In the right medallion Christ, holding a staff, stands before Pilate who is shown washing his hands. Kneeling angels below hold the Crown of Thorns and the Nails, symbolizing the Passion and Crucifixion.
The window is a memorial to Alexander H. Birrell, Christina K. Birrell, Esther Birrell Smith, and Newton C. Smith and was dedicated on June 1, 1947.
