The altar in the chapel was made for our first church in 1854 and was moved to the second church when it was constructed in 1873. During the fire at the second church in 1902, two men were able to wrest the altar from the wall and carry it out of the burning building. After the fire, the altar continued to be used for worship in Trinity Chapel, the converted Bishop Scott Academy drill hall, until it was moved to the chapel in our current church when it was completed in 1906.
