This is a shrine to the Blessed Virgin Mary, who is honored as Queen and Mother in this depiction of her as Our Lady of Victories. This is one of the many titles given to Mary. She is supporting the child Jesus, who is also wearing a crown and standing on an orb of the world symbolizing his divine kingship.
The small statue on the left is a depiction of St. Cecilia, one of the most famous Roman martyrs of the early church. She is the patron saint of music and musicians for it is said that when she was dying, she sang to God.
The small statue on the right is of St. Agnes, who lived in Rome in the 3rd century. St. Agnes, dedicating herself to Christ at a young age, declined the proposal of a Roman official. For this, she was martyred at age 12 under the reign of Emperor Diocletian. Because of the nature of her martyrdom, the Church honors St. Agnes as the patron saint of girls, chastity, and victims of violence.
