The 1927 Pierce Arrow Model 36 is an impressive touring car with modern innovations through and through. It exhibits the trademark fender headlights for which Pierce Arrow is known, along with supple leather upholstery, hickory wood wheel spokes, etched glass, and other fine details that would be expected in luxury builds of this era.
Under the hood, a six-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams and dual ignition powers the car effortlessly, and a Delco generator and starting motor with double reduction gears insure starting “even on the coldest of winter nights.”
The body is sheet aluminum over white ash wood. There are front and rear brake drums and semi-elliptical leaf springs in the rear. The selective sliding gear transmission with three speeds forward and one reverse makes driving the 36 a dream. A twenty-six gallon fuel tank holds plenty of fuel for a day of driving in style.
