The 1912 Stanley Model 73 is a five-passenger touring car, highly original and recently restored in authentic, period-correct colors, fabrics, and finishes. This is a beautiful example of a very popular Stanley steam car. The Currier and Cameron ash body has an aluminum skin, which was an improvement for 1912.
This twenty-horsepower Stanley has a typical vertical fire tube boiler under the hood and kerosene vapor burner below the boiler. Commonly referred to as coffin-nose Stanleys, steamers made by the Stanleys were easily identifiable by the shape of the hood. A Prest-O-Lite acetylene tank under the running board replaced messy calcium carbide generators for acetylene road lights.
