I found this deer antler shed in a rural Kempton thicket. It was a blustery April afternoon and the wind pelted me with sporadic sheets of rain. I patterned my sky after some of the dramatic skies rendered by artist Winslow Homer. His seascapes versus my landscape. I like the symbolism of deer shedding their antlers with the promise of another new beginning.
