HISTORY

The building at 621 Bridgeway has housed dining and commerce since the 1950s, when Sausalito was at the height of its bohemian fame. Italian-American culture ran deep on this stretch of Bridgeway — in the fishing families who had worked these waters since the 1880s, in the restaurant owners who fed the artists and tourists arriving by ferry, and in the easy warmth of waterfront hospitality that has always defined this promenade. The building watched the Beat Generation arrive, the 1960s counterculture follow, and the celebrity scene of the 1970s transform Bridgeway into a destination known across America.
