This photographic series documents the rapid transformation of the land surrounding the former Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant into residential developments. The project traces a landscape once defined by secrecy, contamination, and environmental hazard as it’s rebranded as safe, ordinary, and desirable. Alongside the photographs, “Homes for Sale” signs seen near the site underscore the tension between marketing language and historical knowledge.
As memory fades and construction accelerates, Alchemy looks at how land is reshaped both physically and culturally, through development, language, and time. It questions what is remembered, what is forgotten, and what remains unseen within a rapidly changing landscape.
