The Idelkope Building: 508 North Broadway

The Idelkope Building was constructed in 1914 by architects Braseth and Rosatti and is located where the Great Northern Railroad intersects Broadway in Downtown Fargo.  

Two-story, yellow brick, stone cornice with corbelled brick building was built by T. F. Powers Co., contractor for H. Idelkope for $12,000.  

The building name plate is “Idelkope”, for the first owner.

In 1932, the second floor was known as the Continental Hotel. From 1930 to 1936, it was known as the Northern Hotel. Later, it was known as the Langholt Hotel and is now known as the Terrace Apartments. The property is on a corner that serves as the north bookend of Broadway and is directly across Broadway from the Ford Building.
