Color

Color, the oldest painting in this exhibit, was begun in 1959 when Rigsby was attending the University of Alabama on the GI Bill after having served as part of the Army Band Training Unit. Rigsby continued to rework and add to the painting over many years. It, like some of the other works in this exhibit, shows evidence of the history of decades of exhibits, multiple cross-country moves, studio relocations and other life events, all of which contribute to the living history of these paintings.
