Construct a Message

In WonderMedia, we talk a lot about, well, media! Since many of our examples come from social media or the news, it’s tempting to limit media to those categories. But did you know that ‘media’ includes anything that sends a message? That means that even your T-shirt can be media! The clothes you wear often contain advertising in the form of logos and branding. Look at what you’re wearing now – did you find any distinguishing logos or icons that indicate the designer?

In this station, we’re challenging you to create your media – in the form of a T-shirt! What message do you want to send to the world? Why? How do you think people seeing your T-shirt will interpret it?

Pause the audio track now to try your hand at constructing a message. Press play to resume when you’re ready.

How’d your T-shirt turn out? Ready to share your message with the world? Go to the museum’s website when you get home to download your design and share it far and wide!

Speaking of sharing, there’s a lot of factors to consider when you think about sharing information online. Let’s move on to the next station to find out more! Select the corresponding track when you arrive.
