Genesis 1:20-21 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky." So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
The ocean is alive and moving; not moving by itself but moving in conjunction with the land masses and the sun and moon. It is so amazing to comprehend the beauties and wonders that are hidden within the ocean. More than anything else in all of God’s creation, the ocean is more sensitive to all movements of the universe and the weather. Once you understand the sensitivities of the ocean, have dialogue with it and cope with it, you’ll understand the most intricate of God’s creation. In order for us to mold our God-centered character, we must know how to deal with the ocean. God unfolded all creation in pairs with relationships as counterparts. All creation is formed in the pair system for the purpose of the fulfillment of love. Among fish, the model of love between male and female is the salmon. The parents die and let their young eat their bodies so they can grow well. If there is a creator, why do you think He created the salmon this way? Observing these fish, we cannot but be led to grasp how important our children are, and how important love is. We also need to be able to offer our lives for the sake of love and for our children. - SMM
About the painting: The ocean makes up 70% of the earth’s surface. In this painting, 70% of it is the ocean. The fish and birds are all in pairs. They form a circle, representing give-and-take action, going from the smallest to the biggest creatures. The magnifying “eye” represents the eye of God that sees the internal beauty of the salmon which Father Moon says is the model of love.
