Next stop, 285 Riverside Drive, built in 1928. Carl Becker, noted Toledo architect, designed this home for Thomas and Irma Walbridge. It's how Thirwall Drive got its name.
It's the little access road that goes back to the home garage and entryway. It's a Mediterranean villa-style home overlooking the Maumee River. Mediterranean style is reflected in red tile roofs, high chimneys, and stone walls faced with stucco.
Includes copper eaves and downspouts. The home also features wrought iron decorative balconies and a Doric-columned pediment at the front entrance. It had a separate carriage house, greenhouse, and tiled swimming pool.
