Structured Chaos by Malcolm Tibbetts
This sculpture is known as an "Structured Chaos" This particular configuration is comprised of six squares, all having the same orientation to the center of the mass.
For this project, I propose an overall diameter of approximately 5 feet. The redwood
surface would be textured and would be protected with Thomson's water seal. The wood could be allowed to weather, much like an old redwood fence, or if a fresher appearance was desired, a fresh coat of sealer could be applied every few years. The tangle would be hung from a 4" diameter steel post, which would have a base flange for mounting onto its concrete platform.
Malcolm Tibbetts has been woodworker since childhood and has been a segmented woodturning artist for the past 30 years. His work resides in many prestigious collections and museums around the world, and he has won numerous awards for his art. He shares his passion for this unique art form by conducting demonstrations at national symposia, woodworking schools and club meetings.
The Sculpture is available for purchase for- $10,000
