Get closer to the water
Did you know the water in Standley Lake is the primary drinking water supply for three cities serving over 300,000 people? The water is jointly owned by the cities of Westminster, Thornton, Northglenn and the Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company (FRICO).
Look for the Standley Lake Ranger Boat. This and the Westminster Water Quality's boat are the only motorized watercrafts authorized on the lake to reduce the risk of aquatic nuisance species from entering the lake.
Standley Lake is also home to several fish species such as rainbow trout, bluegill, carp, wiper, large and small mouth bass, walleye, channel catfish and more. If you stare at the water long enough, you might see some fish swimming around!
