BMW introduced the second-generation Hardtop/Hatch MINI Cooper in 2006. Although it looks very similar to the first-generation, it is all redesigned. The headlight units are now fixed inside the front quarter panels, rather than being integrated with the previous clamshell hood, so that they no longer raised up with the opening of the hood. MINI added more space for rear passengers by creating sculpted cut-outs in the rear of the front seats. Instead of the conventional ignition key, an engine start button has been installed. The battery has been moved from the trunk floor to a more convenient location under the hood.
Jaynee has wanted a MINI for years. “I am a professional quilter and had a picture of a MINI next to my machine as incentive. Lance White’s son, Zach, sold us the MINI. I absolutely love it.” Jaynee wanted to replace her high-performance driving school BMW E36 M3 with a MINI Cooper. The only customizing that has been done to the MINI is an Akrapovic exhaust system.
She says it goes exactly where she points it, it sounds awesome, and she drives it like she stole it! “I am just very honored that it is on display at The Ultimate Driving Museum. Being a BMW CCA Foundation and Street Survival Ambassador gave us the opportunity to publicize Street Survival to all who go through the exhibit. We save many young lives through Street Survival. Driving is my passion and my MINI with the radio turned up is just a grin."
