Adopting a high-altitude perspective which brings wider sceneries visible to the audience, the artist has made the picture more broad and full. Using dots and lines to outline the shape of the terraces, combined with western pointillism method to colour the cotton fields, the use of Chinese ink is minimised. Light and dark shades of green instilled a jade-like glow to the terraces.
