Kindergarten School

Another example of the many subscription schools was advertised in the Allegany County Republican on April 8th, 1886. Miss Gussie Cutler opened a Kindergarten school in her home, the Hartshorn House on Park Circle. The article went on to explain that Miss Cutler had recently finished a “thorough course of study in Kindergarten School and is excellently qualified for instruction.”
