Birch grove

Birch Grove

The Birch Grove features a beautiful display of paper birch trees, also known as American white birch. The species is named for its thin, white bark that curls like paper. Due to their shallow root systems, it is best not to plant paper birch trees in stressful or difficult environments. Other species of birch trees can also be found growing throughout Dow Gardens, including yellow birch, river birch, monarch birch, and Japanese white birch.
