Chinese Chamber: 730 Sacramento Street

Arnold proudly served as president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco for many years. Located here on Sacramento street, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce presents the annual Chinese New Year festivities. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce has a long history of actively working to serve the community and supports not only social programs but also continues to place an emphasis on economic development. Their mission is to promote Chinese cultural and commercial activities within the Chinese community in San Francisco. 

 

San Francisco’s Chinese New Year Parade is held for approximately two weeks following the first day of the Chinese lunar new year. It is the oldest and the largest Asian cultural event in North America.

 

Chinese new year street fair is an annual two-day Chinese new year community street fair held in conjunction with the annual new year parade. This community fair offers sights and sounds of the SF exhilarating Chinatown with over 120 booths and concessions, traditional and modern entertainment performances such as Chinese folk dance, acrobats & lion dancing, etc.

 

Miss Chinatown USA pageant has been an annual lunar new year event since the 1950s. The winners of this pageant represent the Chinese community and act as ambassadors promoting Chinese culture and heritage.
