Welcome to Meliha Organic Dairy Farm.

You are at Meliha, in the Emirate of Sharjah, at the foot of the Mountains. This farm is operated by EKTIFA, the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment.

The first thing you meet here is not a cow. It is a gate.

Every vehicle entering this farm drives through an automatic disinfection spray and a wheel bath. Every person passes through a sanitizing tunnel and changes into farm-issued coveralls and boots. We will ask the same of you again at each transition point today, and once more before the dairy plant.

None of this is ceremony. This herd is closed. We buy in no animals. Every replacement cow at Meliha was born here. A disease that walks in on a boot cannot be bred out, so we stop it at the gate instead.
