Stony brook

Path of the Stony Brook

[walk to the gate that encloses the parking behind 276 Amory] If you look at the back of the old JP Neighborhood House you will notice how this building is not a full rectangle at the back, but instead it slants. That is because it sits over the path of the Stony Brook. This is how you can see the easement maintained such that no building can be constructed over it. Turn around looking across Amory Street, the sidewalk leading into the park is running over the Brook’s path and you can see the commercial building across the street is also built with an odd slanted configuration to accommodate the easement.
