Jessica Castle La Moreaux graduated from University of Michigan Dental School in 1896, as the only woman in her class. La Moreaux opened her first dental practice in Battle Creek, Michigan in their Sanatorium. She later moved to Texas, where she became the first female dentist to practice there.
