Before we talk about Wesley, a word about my cousin, Rosemarie. Because I have liked art all my life, my more conservative cousin, Rosemarie, likes to call me a hipster doofus, ala Cosmo Kramer in Seinfeld. I love this. I take it as a badge of honor that I would be called a hipster doofus, so I put out a call for portraits for hipster doofuses. Wesley’s wife, bless her heart, nominated Wesley to be painted, and he, the great sport that he is, went along for the ride. Wes donned his Philadelphia Eagles pullover cap and wore his super special shirt for the occasion. I just remember laughing a lot with him and having a great time painting him. He was also the 30th portrait that I painted and that felt like a nice achievement at the time.
