Note: during the 2020/21 academic year, the stacks will be closed. If you need books in the stacks, request them for pickup in the library catalogue. If you need a scan of an article or chapter, ask a staff member for assistance.
The second floor is where you’ll find the circulating collection (AKA: the books you can check out). You can take these books out for three weeks at a time and you can renew them online in your library account.
Also on this floor are print journals with titles from S–Z, which are arranged alphabetically. Journals don’t leave the library, so if you want to read an article at home, you’ll have to request a scan of that article.
When we reopen, you can browse the shelves for the books you need, but it’s more efficient to find them by their call numbers. A call number is a unique code given to each item in the library that identifies its subject and tells you where to find it. You can find a book’s call number by searching the UNB Libraries catalogue. Books in the second-floor stacks have LAW-STACKS in their call number. The end of each stack shows the call number range of the books in that section.
