The Nest Hearth and Home introduces Raven.

Heide Foist shares about her dress and her patriotism.
When a bird builds its nest, it looks for location, and materials that are sturdy, soft, flexible, and binding, providing a haven, for a family to be born and to grow. Our shop decided upon our dress name based on this concept. We offer hand-made and locally sourced home decor items to help provide and decorate other nests.
The dress design concept was instant knowledge. We started with the dress form base and added buffalo check fabric (our most requested fabric for pumpkins, pillows and ribbon) to the bodice. For the skirt, we used a stretchy tulle made into strips. We gathered and attached branches, which we often cut and use for our pumpkin stems and then tied them on with the tulle fabric. For the nests, we used shreds of Coco Coir from our doormats, then formed and placed them onto branches all around. Since we make candles, we had to do wax drippings all around the skirt and branches. The scent in the wax is our number one selling fall scent, White Butternut Pumpkin. Tied onto the skirt are home decor items from our shop. Our Farmersville Zip-code Tea Towel acts as a scarf around the neck. Our store mascot, The crow is perched on the bodice. An American Flag on a dowel rod is placed into the waist not only to signify our co-owner being a military veteran, but to also show pride in America, pride in our Patriotic Town, and to highlight items we craft in America. A fabric pumpkin, (which we have made over 150 so far) is the crowning glory.
May the items from The Nest, bless your nests!
