Self Portrait

Leonardo Da Vinci drew his self-portrait around 1512. A hand-written note from the 16th century titles the drawing in red chalk as “Leonardus Vincius- self-portrait at an advanced age”, so that its interpretation as Leonardo's self-portrait during the last years of his life is generally accepted nowadays. Today this image is instantly recognized the world over, and is always associated with themes such as innovation, wisdom, curiosity and genius.
