The South Sawmillfield Cotton Mill, 6-12 Burns Street, Port Dundas, 1965.

An example of the integrated cotton spinning and weaving mills which were becoming fashionable in the late 1830s, this one was built in about 1838 for Alexander Brown & Co. In 1891 it was converted into a lodging house by George Young of the Garscube Road Home, and this view shows it immediately before demolition.
