I first knew of Jasmine through her work. Early on when I moved to Philadelphia, I saw a show of her paintings at the Moore College of Art & Design. It was an exhibition of 31 very large paintings of chairs which I loved. Some years later, I looked up the paintings and the artist who made them and I found the artist, Jasmine, was hosting her paintings at the Third Street Gallery in Philadelphia that week. It was a few blocks down from my house, so I went to her opening, introduced myself, and bought one of her paintings. She is a big fan of pineapples and recently we’ve traded art which I love to do. This painting, too, may be one of my personal favorite paintings of the series.
