Ted and I have been sketching together for years. Primarily at the Society of Illustrators in Manhattan, but later on we’ve gotten together just to sketch each other for fun. Ted is a good friend. On this occasion, Ted was visiting Philadelphia from his full-time illustration teaching position at SCAD, the Savannah College of Art & Design. We spent a couple of days in town hitting some good restaurants and then realized we were running out of time to paint each other. With about an hour left before he had to be at the airport, we hit my studio and had a one hour rush session to paint each other’s portrait. I was able to get one painting off in the hour. Ted sketched and painted me twice!
