Henry and Sarah DeLand

Henry Addison DeLand was a wealthy industrialist who made a fortune selling baking soda, back when the pantry staple was revolutionary. He invested all of his money in DeLand real estate. Unfortunately, he lost hisĀ investments when the citrus groves he guaranteed were killed by a Great Freeze during the winter of 1894. During their downfall, his wife Sarah went mad.
