Guru Parampara

The portrait in front of you is of the Guru Parampara. It depicts the unbroken succession of spiritual gurus in the Swaminarayan tradition who continue the spiritual legacy founded by Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Through them, Bhagwan Swaminarayan remains present and continues his work of spiritual liberation. 

In the centre is the image of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the present Guru of the BAPS Swaminarayan tradition. 

He leads an austere life of celibacy, without personal wealth or gain. Despite his advancing age, he continues to dedicate his life for the wellbeing of others, travelling from villages to towns throughout the world to foster love, peace, harmony, righteousness, and service to humanity. His humility, profound wisdom and innate spirituality continue to inspire faith in God among millions.
