Still Sculpture

[Cross Centre Street and walk to the corner with Eliot Street]

This small “guerilla sculpture” (meaning it was put into place without explicit permission) was installed by JP artist Matthew Hincman in 2014. It’s called "Still" and honors Trayvon Martin, an unarmed Black teenager shot to death by police in Florida in February 2012. The hoodie he was wearing became a symbol and this monument is meant to evoke the countless stories like Trayvon’s in American history.
