Justice for the COS, Multiple Artists

These pieces were part of GOCA’s 2025 summer show Justice of the Piece; an exhibition centering women and femme-identifying artists whose artworks are community-engaged tools for advocacy and solidarity. Artists Grace Wood, Katie Curcio, and Rachel Dinda were invited to create artworks embodying these themes in front of a live audience. “The Omen” by Katie Curcio explores the rhythms and resilience of the natural world. Through this piece Katie aims to highlight the beauty and interdependence of nature in a time when so much is threatened or overlooked. Known for her fluid, vibrant style, she draws inspiration from landscapes, wildlife, and the serene details of everyday ecosystems.
“Soft as Stone” by Rachel Dinda is a tribute to transformation, and the power of collective growth. Rather than allowing adversity to harden or isolate us, this piece encourages a return to community, find our flow, and the quiet but powerful strength found in unity. Of her work Rachel says, “as a female muralist, I aim to bring visibility and representation to women’s voices in public art and create spaces that feel nurturing yet powerful”. “Botanic Voyager” by Grace Wood plays with ideas of life, femininity, fate, and cosmic powers. The subject drifts through space and time shedding petals yet constantly blooming, pursuing a thread of fate and possibilities. This piece aims to provoke thoughts of ambition, curiosity, and hope.
