This photograph was taken at the site of the Daisy Bradford #3 discovery well. Men in this photo include "Dad" Joiner who is shaking the hand of the man in the middle who is "Doc" Lloyd. H. L. Hunt is to their right in the straw hat and wearing a tie.
In his effort to gain capital to drill the Daisy Bradford #3, Joiner had sold more shares in the well than he had available. Therefore, when the well proved to be good, all of the shareholders wanted their portion. He was in serious trouble with more than 150 lawsuits pending. H. L. Hunt bought Joiner's interest in the well and handled the lawsuits on his behalf.
"Dad" Joiner went on to other oilfields but never again "struck it rich." H. L. Hunt went on to become one of the richest men in the world.
