Roger is a long time guest at nourish.NJ. Because of his veteran benefits, he’s always been able to make ends meet–with a little extra support from nourish.NJ and the Outreach team. But last winter, Roger got sick. All his extra resources go toward his medical care.
While he’s ill, Roger reconnects with family he’d lost touch with. He realizes he wants to go home. Unfortunately, because his medical bills are so high, he cannot afford a bus ticket back to Ohio. He worries he’ll never be able to go home. When Roger tells the Outreach team his story, they want to help. They buy him a bus ticket, so he can be with his family by the weekend!
Roger says his goodbyes and heads out. When he arrives in Ohio, he calls nourish.NJ to let the staff know he made it safely. Roger is so happy to be reunited with his family, and he’s so grateful to the Outreach team for making it happen.
