Arturo and Maria are a married couple new to Morristown, their native language is Spanish. With the language barrier, Arturo has difficulty finding local resources. One day while leaving church, Maria hears about nourish.NJ. She and Arturo decide to visit. When they arrive, they’re pleasantly surprised and grateful. The staff, volunteers and guests all welcome them warmly. Arturo and Maria leave with their first full meal in weeks and bring home bags and bags of fresh groceries.
The next time they visit, they have big news: Maria is pregnant! They need baby clothes, a crib, everything! The Outreach team reaches out to the community in search of baby products. Within minutes, community members messaged the team offering all sorts of necessary items. The office is overwhelmed with car seats, strollers, diapers and wipes! With all these wonderful supplies, Arturo and Maria are ready to have this baby!
Arturo and Maria are so thankful for the donations, and so happy to have met such a supportive community. They visit a couple times a week to have breakfast and lunch, to visit with their new friends, and to take home fresh produce to cook for their little family. The Outreach staff loves watching their daughter grow and always have a special treat for her. The little family is always happy to visit. nourish.NJ has become the extended family Arturo and Maria left behind.
