Sculptor Fitzhugh Karol, ruminates on man's imprint on the landscape as he works with wood, metal and clay in his Brooklyn, New York studio.  His recent series of totemic pieces, like "Blue Footed Bandit", are carved out of wood, interpreting an age old art form from a modenist lens.  This particular piece, is a record of the artist's energy, spent searching for something, or someplace he loves.  "Blue Footed Bandit" earned it's title, when the artist almost lost a finger while sculpting it.
