Observation tower 4

Whidbey Island artist, Dale Reiger began painting about twenty-five years ago, and ten years ago he shifted focus to include his kiln formed glass.  He describes his style as both primitive, and elegant, and themes from his paintings also flow into his glass pieces.  Dale uses elementary shapes, that translate into symbols, which in turn create a highly personalized iconography.  He uses color as a language, and each color has its own code, and texture.  Most of Dale's kiln formed glass is cast, or a combination of fusing and casting. He has also installed a LED light strip in this scultpure making it even more beautiful and dramatic at night. This piece is for sale for $8900.
