Karen Lynn Ingalls is a Calistoga artist and teacher, whose artwork includes paintings, drawings, collages, and life-sized painted sculptures.
Originally a painter and drawer of people, she began painting endangered landscapes — places threatened by development — as she worked with others to save a threatened wetlands area. Enchanted by the land, its colors, and its spirit, she now primarily paints colorist landscapes of rural California
The design of Let Love Bloom began with one of the possible origins of the symbol of the Heart, the leaf of a plant.
I thought of hearts springing and blossoming from the plant, Karen says, and of California poppies. Seeing them in the spring makes one’s heart happy, and their cheery color inspired the orange background for the heart shape, rising from a green stalk.
I added inspirational quotations about love, kindness, and compassion. I want Let Love Bloom to bring joy into its viewers’ day, and make them smile. Look closely, read the quotations, feel inspired, and pass along a little love and kindness, letting love bloom wherever you go. This Heart is for sale for $7500.
