Manger and shadow of the cross

8. From The Manger To The Cross

Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.  But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds,  we are healed.  Isaiah.. chapter fifty-three...verses four through five....  And at the ninth hour... Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last. And Joseph bought a linen shroud, and taking him down, wrapped him in the linen shroud, and laid him in a tomb, that had been cut out of the rock. And he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.   Mark...chapter fifteen..verses thirty four, thirty seven and forty six....  But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.  He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.  Matthew ...chapter twenty-eight...verses five and six.
