Discovery House Rules

DISCOVERY HOUSE RULES

At all times, adults in charge will maintain a separation of adults and minors with regard to the use of bathrooms and sleeping areas.  At no time should one adult and one minor be alone in either of the bathrooms or sleeping areas.  Please contact us if an exception is warranted due to medical or physical issues.

All chairs stay in House. Chairs for outside should be taken from #3 white shed or Pavilion.

Bathroom lights – some come on automatically, others need to be switched on and off.

All posters, collages, flyers etc. must be attached to cork strips in first floor hallway—NOT on wall itself.

Please clean and vacuum house thoroughly before leaving -- this includes Bathrooms. Vacuums can be found in hall closet next to the stairway to the second floor.

NO CANDLES may be lit in the house.  They might set off the fire-suppression sprinkling system.

An extensive FIRST AID kit is located in the kitchen pantry closet.

Please take all white plastic bags w/trash from inside the house, consolidate them in large industrial bags and place them in the LARGE  trash cans  outside kitchen IN trash corral under the steps. Replace the plastic liners in the house trash cans. RECYCLE bottles and cans and put in the buckets outside kitchen area in trash corral.

Please close all blinds before locking up and leaving Discovery House.

PLEASE TURN OFF ALL LIGHTS AND OVERHEAD FANS IN KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM.

Until further notice, NO FIRES IN THE INSIDE HOUSE FIREPLACE.

A fire can be started in the outside pavilion fireplace. FOR PERMISSION TO HAVE FIRE CALL:  Mullica Township Police Dispatcher at 609-652-2037 and verify Discovery House permit code when asked: C0812105

Please DO NOT move any furniture or tables in main room. Any accidental damage or issues regarding the facility MUST be reported after the weekend/retreat.

Please do not drive in the back yard.  You will damage the septic system.  When unloading your vehicles with food, park in front of the right fence and carry the food across the back walkway to the back door of the House.

PLEASE ASSIGN ONE PERSON TO BE RESPONSIBLE TO ENSURE THAT THE HOUSE IS CLEAN, TRASH IS DISPOSED OF PROPERLY
(inside of Large containers in trash corral so that animals do not disturb and storms do not blow trash, etc. around property).

Thank you for your help in maintaining Discovery House.  Discovery House currently has air mattresses and cots that may be used.  After use, please deflate the air mattresses, refold the cots and neatly return them to their original location.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO RETURN DOOR KEY TO APPROPRIATE LOCK BOX WHEN LEAVING THE HOUSE.
